Ingredients
  

  • 350 g canned tuna, drained
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 150 g apples, diced
  • 100 g sweet bell pepper, diced
  • 100 g pickled cucumbers, diced
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (or mild vinegar)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh tomato slices, for garnish

Method
 

  1. Drain the canned tuna and flake it into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Toss the tuna with the chopped onion and lemon juice (or vinegar).
  3. Core and dice the apples.
  4. Dice the bell pepper and pickled cucumbers.
  5. Gently combine the tuna, apples, peppers, and pickles in a large bowl.
  6. Season with salt to taste and mix well.
  7. Transfer the salad to a serving dish.
  8. Garnish with sliced hard-boiled eggs and fresh tomato slices before serving.

Notes

  • Crisp apples such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work wonderfully.
  • Chill the salad for 30 minutes before serving for the best flavor.
  • Delicious served with rye bread, crusty rolls, or crackers.
